  1. Hamilton Township, NJ –
Savor Local Flavor at Fall Fest at the New Mill One!

On October 21, 2017, Isles will hold the first-ever Fall Fest at the new Social Profit Center at Mill One. The fundraiser is designed to savor the flavor of the local community and celebrate Isles and the renovated, formerly vacant historic mill. The Fest will include local food, drinks, art, entertainment, and tours of historic Mill One, including its publicly accessible green and solar rooftop.

The event will showcase local restaurants, offering a variety of dishes, local wines, craft brews, and more. Local musicians will perform, and artists will create work on site. Artist in residence Malcolm Bray will work on a large scale canvas in his studio, one of several artist spaces at Mill One.

“It’s an ambitious effort that’s been in the works for a long time, so we are really excited to invite guests to the new Social Profit Center at Mill One. While there, they can sample what makes our community great – artists, chefs, and social entrepreneurs,” says Isles’ President Marty Johnson. “We’re delighted to showcase this unique space, our vision for what it will offer, and those that made it possible.”

Fall Fest will take place at Mill One, a building rich in history. In 1894, renowned architect William Poland built the large brick and timber frame factory on the northeast corridor train line at the Trenton-Hamilton border in New Jersey, in order to serve the markets of both New York City and Philadelphia. Two decades later, Mill One was the location of a nationally recognized child labor strike. From 1931 to 1967, the Atlantic Products Company used the mill to manufacture golf bags and luggage. By the early 1980s, the historic building became mostly vacant and deteriorating. Today, Isles’ Social Profit Center at Mill One will bring together social impact businesses, nonprofits, and arts spaces under one roof, offering flexible office, warehouse, studio and event spaces.

Fall Fest takes place at 5:30pm on Saturday October 21st at Mill One, 1 N Johnston Avenue, Hamilton Township. Tickets, program ads and sponsorships are available at http://www.isles.com/fallfest For more information, please contact Karen Hollywood KHollywood@isles.or , 609-241-4722.
