HAMILTON – Hit and Run driver takes out utility pole

Police and members of the Hamilton Township fire department respond to a hit-and-run Motor vehicle accident on Estates Boulevard near the intersection of Shady Lane that occurred just before 5:30 PM Tuesday evening.

The vehicle struck a utility pole in the 700 block of Estates Boulevard causing power to go out in the surrounding neighborhoods including Shady Lane & Stockton Street
The driver of the vehicle, A tan Nissan got out of the car and attempted to flee on foot a neighbor tried to stop him after a brief struggle he took off towards a wooded area of Shady Lane
A witness said the suspect was apprehended a short time later by the Hamilton Police Department
A PSE&G crew is on scene attempting to restore the power as dozens of neighbors stand out on their porches with no electric
