DONTAI JONES, 25
On Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at approximately 2:00 p.m., Jones allegedly provoked an argument with an employee at the Family Case Management window located on the second floor of the Mercer County Civil Courthouse. Jones was purportedly seeking information on restraining orders when he attempted to strike the employee, shattering a protective partition window. The incident was caught on surveillance cameras. A photo of the suspect and his description was distrubuted to local media and was posted on the Sheriff s Facebook page.
“I am grateful to members of the public who called in anonymous tips to help us locate this violent person,” said Kemler. “I am very happy that our Facebook page has become another tool in our toolbox to help fight crime,” added Kemler.
Jones was charged with assault, criminal mischief and obstructing the administration of law. The court employee was uninjured and no other information is available.
Jones is held at the Mercer County Correction Center pending a future court appearance.
