The New Jersey State Police, with assistance from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and U.S. Marshal’s Service, has arrested Felix Davila, 36, of Bridgeton City, N.J., and Kenneth Ortiz, 23, of Vineland City, N.J, for various weapons and drug offenses.

After a six-month investigation, troopers from the State Police Metro South Station obtained two search warrants in Vineland City. On Wednesday, April 4, members of State Police Metro South, Troop “A” Criminal Investigations Office, Troop “A” Strategic Investigations, K-9, and T.E.A.M.S Units along with agents from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and U.S. Marshal’s Counter Gang Unit executed the search warrants.

While searching a home on Woodcrest Drive, troopers arrested Felix Davila after they discovered him attempting to flush suspected drugs down the toilet.

Later that day, troopers searched a business on Delsea Drive and as a result, arrested Ortiz. They also arrested Manuel Maymi, 38, and Jose Rodriguez, 39, both of Vineland City on unrelated warrants. In addition, they seized three handguns, $71,100 worth of cocaine, $40,000 worth of heroin, more than $19,000 worth of marijuana, more than $10,000 cash, drug packaging materials, and drug paraphernalia.

Felix Davila was charged with:

• Possession CDS (3 Counts)

• Possession of CDS with intent to distribute (3 Counts)

• Distribution of CDS within 500’ of a park (3 Counts)

• Tampering with evidence

• Possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose (3 Counts)

• Unlawful possession of a weapon (3 Counts)

• Possession of a weapon during CDS offense (3 Counts)

• Certain persons not to possess a weapon (3 Counts)

• Possession of drug paraphernalia

Kenneth Ortiz was charged with:

• Possession CDS (3 Counts)

• Possession of CDS with intent to distribute (3 Counts)

• Distribution of CDS within 500’ of a park (3 Counts)

• Possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose (3 Counts)

• Unlawful possession of a weapon (3 Counts)

• Possession of a weapon during CDS offense (3 Counts)

• Certain persons not to possess a weapon (3 Counts)

• Possession of drug paraphernalia

Felix Davila and Kenneth Ortiz were lodged at the Cumberland County Jail awaiting a bail hearing. Manuel Maymi and Jose Rodriguez were released pending a court date
