Trenton provisional ballots counted, Chester holds off challenge to remain in West ward run off

Trenton:
Trenton provisional ballots counted Santiago Rodriguez in Rachel Cogsvill-Lattimer out.
West Ward Councilman Zachary Chester survives challenge, will face Robin Vaughn in the June 12 run off.
And some accusations of electioneering.
Members of the Mercer County Board of elections met Monday morning to count provisional ballots that were cast in Tuesday, May 8 city election
After all the ballots were counted Santiago Rodriguez edged out Rachel Cogsvill-Lattimer for the third Council at-large seat Netting an additional 20 votes. Rodriguez will join top vote getter Kathy McBride and Jarell Blakely as the newest members of Trenton city Council
Blakely came under fire as a photograph surface of a campaign sign hanging behind poll workers check-in desk on election day the photo is from West Ward district 16
The board commissioners were not available to comment but one employee said that the commissioners had received a copy of the photo and are looking into it.
In the race for West Ward Council Zack Chester held off Dr. Shirley Gaines when he picked up an additional 7 votes Chester will square off on June 12 against Robyn Vaughn
Chester when approached after the meeting for comment by a local news reporter refused comment stating “you didn’t tell the truth the last time I spoke to you I’m not going to speak to you today”
The board of elections disallowed 13 provisional ballots from West – 1 and 9 ballots from the South – 7 after poll workers failed to properly Seal the provisional ballot bags.
