Police and paramedics respond to a shooting that took place in the 700 block of Monmouth Street
The sounds of rapid gunfire rang through the air just around midnight Sunday evening, leaving a trail of bullets stretched down a two block section of East Trenton between Tyler Street and Hamilton Ave.
The call came out around 12:05 AM for for a gunshot victim in front of 709 Monmouth St.,
Dozens of shell casings could be seen in the street on Monmouth between Tyler and Culbertson Ave. while police with flashlights searched for evidence throughout the neighborhood
The crime scene continued around the corner onto Hamilton Avenue down to Chestnut Avenue were a car with shot out windows sat parked near the intersection with the doors wide-open and music still playing inside & police tape surrounding the vehicle.
There was at least one shooting victim who was reportedly transported to capital health regional Medical Center their identity and condition is unknown at this time.
A couple of neighbors sitting on their porches along Hamilton Ave. & Monmouth Street said The apparent drive-by shooting at first sound like fireworks because there were so many rounds being fired.
Several of the shell casings appeared to be very large possibly A.R. 15 rounds
