Group of Trenton Muslims Support Perez for Mayor

A group of concerned Trenton Muslims has endorsed business leader Paul Perez for Mayor in the upcoming June 12th Mayoral election.  Perez goes into the runoff as the leading vote-getter from the first election held on May 8th.

Prior to issuing their endorsement,  the group members met with Perez to discuss a wide range of issues including education, child and public safety, municipal licensing, small business concerns, housing and business redevelopment plans.

“The support from these individuals is particularly special for me because it comes during the holy month of Ramadan, when our Muslims brothers and sisters here in Trenton and throughout the world focus on spiritual discipline and engage in deep contemplation.  To receive their endorsement during this month focused on community and charity is humbling.  I wish all in our Muslim community ‘Ramadan Mubarak’,” said Perez.

These individuals add their names to the list of high profile community and labor endorsements for Perez including: the Latino Leadership Alliance-NJ; the Guatemalan Merchants’ Association; community activist and former Trenton Mayoral candidate Darren “Freedom” Green; the Wayne DeAngelo-led Mercer County Building and Construction Trades Council; the Ray Pocino-led NJ State Laborers’ PAC; and, the Michael K. Maloney-led United Association of Plumbers & Pipefitters Local #9.
