Trenton: Gusciora expresses disappointment in Murphy

Trenton-
Gusciora disappointed with Murphy
609-310-NEWS (6397)
Mayor Gusciora has issued the following statement pertaining to Governor Murphy’s recent line-item veto, which would have released the Capital City from the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the state of New Jersey:

“I became aware this morning that the Governor struck certain provisions from the state budget which would have released Trenton from the MOU for this fiscal year. I am obviously disappointed that the provision was not signed into law. I have been in contact with the Governor, and members of his administration. My office has been assured that our concerns with the MOU can be addressed. My main focus now is with securing the best deal for the people of Trenton.
Governor Murphy has expressed to me that there will be further announcements about the Transitional Aid offered to our city. We will continue to work with state officials to better our city’s fiscal health.”
