City residents will come together this evening for the 35th annual National Night Out event that celebrates a partnership with police and community. This year’s event Will have 120 streets representing the city.

The kick off event was held Monday night at City Hall with Mayor Gusciora addressing the capacity crowd in the atrium. The mayor was joined by state senator Shirley Turner, Mercer county prosecutor Angelo Onofri, City council president Cathy McBride, North Ward Council woman Marge Wilson, Councilmen at large, Santiago Rodriguez and acting Police Director Pedro Medina.

Senator Shirley Turner referred to Trenton’s mayor as the coolest in the state but said, We can’t have a safe city without all of your help, we have to take back our city, house by house, street by street and ward by ward Turner said.
