HAMILTON – GEICO OF HAMILTON JOINS WITH MERCER COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE FOR CHILD PASSENGER SAFETY WEEK

Hamilton –
Each year, Child Passenger Safety Week (CPS) is celebrated across the country to remind parents and caregivers of the need to keep children of all ages properly restrained in a seat that meets their weight and height requirements. Child Passenger Safety Technicians provided by the Mercer County Sheriff s Office will be present at the GEICO of Hamilton office, located at 825 Route 33, on Saturday, September 23 from 10:00 A.M. – 1:30 P.M. to ensure proper car seat installation and those families are using the right restraint whether it is a car seat, booster seat or seat belt.“Even after you select the right car seat, it’s important to know the seat is installed correctly,” says Sheriff Jack Kemler. “It is also very important to know when to transition your child to other types of seats as they grow older,” added Kemler.
The Mercer County Sheriff s Office conducts child seat safety inspections on a regular basis for local residents.
As part of a national campaign to help parents properly secure their children in motor vehicles, free child safety seat inspections are conducted by trained and certified Sheriff s Officers. The Mercer County Sheriff s Office has partnered with the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety to provide instruction and guidance to the public on the proper use and installation of child car seats.
