Trenton –             MERCER COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICERS SEIZE GUN FROM JUVENILE :

Trenton –
Trenton, NJ Mercer County Sheriff Jack Kemler announced that on Monday, August 21, 2017 at approximately 10:30 am Mercer County Sheriff s Office Patrol Officers George Dzurkoc III and John Lyle responded to the 400 block of Union Street in Trenton on a report of a gun possession.
Upon their arrival, the Sheriff s Officers observed a male juvenile (name intentionally withheld) matching a description provided by Trenton Police. The juvenile, 16, was found to be in possession of Glock 9 mm handgun, in addition to three magazines loaded with additional 9 mm bullets. One of the magazines contained hollow point bullets. The weapon was also fitted with a tactical red laser-aiming device.
“The quick work of the Sheriff’s Office patrol units resulted in one more lethal weapon being taken off the streets of Trenton,” said Sheriff Kemler. Our patrol units work hand-in-hand with the Trenton Police Department to help take dangerous guns off the streets and out of the hands of juveniles, Kemler added.
The gun was clear on NCIC and its origin at this time is unknown. The juvenile, who awaits a hearing, was released into parental custody after being fitted with an ankle-monitoring bracelet.
