Parking
The Mercer County Park Commission has implemented a new parking fee of $5.00 per vehicle for festival parking. The fee will be collected by and go directly to Mercer County. Parking is located on-site in Mercer County Park. Use Park entrances located on Hughes Drive and Old Trenton Road. Parking and Admission are FREE for those arriving for Mass on Sunday before 11:00AM.
Handicapped
Persons using a wheelchair or walker receive FREE Admission. Parking is not free. The $5.00 County Parking Fee applies to handicapped parking, as well as general parking. The location of handicapped parking is still to be determined by the Mercer County Park Commission.
Military
Military personnel in uniform receive FREE Admission and FREE Parking.

Bocce
Play Bocce…Learn Bocce…Love Bocce. Bocce is available to all who come to the festival, free of charge. There will be tournaments, bocce lessons, and time for everyone to play. Listen to guest speakers and watch cooking demonstrations. Located in the Italian Heritage Pavilion in front of the beautiful tapestry of Venice.

Amusement Rides
Enjoy more than twenty amusement rides for the whole family, provided by Majestic Midways. Rides are open all three days of the festival (Fri. 4pm – 10pm, Sat. 1pm -11 pm, Sun. 1pm-9:30 pm). Rides require two to five amusement ride tickets with most in the three to four tickets range. Tickets cost $1.50 each for quantities below 25 and $1.00 each for quantities of 25 or more. (Minimum purchase is two tickets).
SPECIAL REDUCED RATE HOURS: Ride for one less ticket than posted for all rides – Friday 4-6:30pm, Saturday 1-5 pm and Sunday 1-5 pm. Tickets may be purchased at the Amusement Ride Ticket Booths at the festival.
New This Year: Munchkinland. The area is designed for guests who are too small to ride many of the other rides. Munchkinland will be housed in a tent and will have a soft play area for children under 36″ tall and coin operated rides and games for those under 42″ tall. There will be a changing station with hand sanitizer as well and benches for adults to rest.
Entertainment
Enjoy performances on two stages including the Investors Bank Stage and the Cabaret Tent. Entertainment includes national and international favorites, Italian folk dancers, big band music, traditional Italian music, Italian American favorites, opera, and children’s entertainment. Past performers have included The Duprees, Michael Amante, Southside Johnny and The Poor Fools, Johnny Maestro and the Brooklyn Bridge, Sam Butera and the Wildest, The Happenings, Floyd Vivino, and Joey Dee & the Starliters. Fireworks Spectacular
Join us on Saturday and stay for the festival’s spectacular fireworks display at 9:40 PM, immediately following the headliner performance.
Sunday Mass
Start Sunday with Mass at 11:00 am at the Investors Bank Stage. The Mass will be offered by Monsignor James Innocenzi in honor of military veterans. Then be part of the re-creation of a long-time Chambersburg “Feast of Lights” tradition when the statue of the Madonna di Casandrino is carried in procession immediately following the service. Parking and Admission are FREE for those arriving for Mass before 11:00AM.
Super 50/50
The Super 50/50 total for 2016 was $40,840 with the winner receiving $20,420. The winning ticket number was 24965. Thank you to everyone who purchased a ticket and congratulations to the winner! In a tribute to Paterson, New Jersey native and accomplished Italian American, Lou Costello, the Mercer County Italian American Festival is proud to have ‘The Abbott and Costello Show’ with Gil ‘Bud’ Palmer and Lou Sciara. The pair joined forces in 1992 when they each won first place in an Abbott & Costello look-a-like contest sponsored by Shanachie Entertainment, producers of the ‘Abbott & Costello Show’ videotape series. Bud and Lou with host Michael Townsend Wright, from the “Uncle Floyd Show,” will be performing all of the memorable ABBOTT and COSTELLO routines including the hilarious “Who’s On First?”

Brooklyn Bridge
The Brooklyn Bridge Band was formed in March of 1968 in NY and had their first of many hit records. “The Worst That Could Happen”, in 1969. They have performed at every major concert venue over the years including Madison Square Garden, Carnegie Hall, The Beacon Theater and Radio City Music Hall, and shared the stage with a diverse group of legendary artists such as Billy Joel, Tony Bennett, Dion, The Righteous Brothers, The Beach Boys and Steppenwolf. the Bridge has also made many classic television appearances performing on The Ed Sullivan Show, The Mike Douglas Show and The Della Reese show among others. The band consists of vocalist, Less Cauchi, an original member and also a member of the The Del-Satins. The other original members are James Rosica, bass player and vocalist, and Joe Ruvio, vocalist. Joining the band in the early seventies are Martin D’Amico, keyboards and vocalist, and James Sarle, lead guitarist who played on a few of the early Brooklyn Bridge recording. Rounding off the ensemble, is lead vocalist Joe “Bean” Esposito. Joe is a Grammy nominated singer/songwriter whose career spans the 1970’s to the present day.

The multi-talented Sonny Averona Jr. (DEAN MARTIN), vocalist and entertainer originally from South Philadelphia, now resides in New Jersey. He is following in the footsteps of his father, the late-great entertainer Sonny Averona Sr. Among Sonny’s many talents are the song stylings of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Rat Pack material along with some Bobby Darin. Johnny “Bones” Cipparone (JERRY LEWIS) was born and raised in South Philadelphia and now resides in New Jersey. With his uncanny portrayal of Jerry Lewis, Johnny has worked with Philly’s own Bobby Rydell, Chubby Checker and Charlie Gracie to name a few. Currently Johnny Bones is working with Sonny Averona, Jr. in a tribute to DEAN MARTIN and JERRY LEWIS which is delighting audiences everywhere.

Fralinger String Band
Fralinger String Band was organized by a group of young men playing music on a street corner in South Philadelphia in 1914 and sponsored by John J. F. Fralinger, M.D. a Philadelphia physician, pharmacist, and team doctor for Connie Mack’s Philadelphia Athletics. Since then, it has been a pleasure for many generations of Fralinger members to perform and delight audiences of all ages. It is renowned throughout the world for very unique musical instrumentation and uplifting performance style. They also have been the most consistent top prize winner in the Philadelphia New Year’s Day Mummers parade for the last 25 years, winning first prize for 8 consecutive years 2003-2010. Throughout the years, the band has traveled all across the United States and the world, as a good will ambassador for Philadelphia and the Mummers, performing in parades, corporate and civic events and concerts. This tradition of Philadelphia Mummery and Fralinger String Band’s excellent entertainment will continue well into the 21st century.

Jimmy Alleva
Jimmy Alleva grew up in Queens, New York, the middle child of three brothers. He fondly recalls his quality time spent with his family as they took great pleasure listening to Italian music legends such as Jimmy Roselli, Sergio Franchi and Mario Lanza. It was at an early age when Jimmy discovered his love for this beautiful music. Jimmy’s adoration of Italian music runs deep within the Alleva blood. His grandfather encouraged him to learn many Neapolitan songs. The Alleva family became a musical household, one brother was a well known Italian singer from their neighborhood and his other brother was a bass player who performed in many local bands.

Kim Jenkins
Kim David Jenkins grew up in Essex County, NJ. He attended Rochester Institute of Technology, in Upstate NY and Montclair State College, in NJ. Over the years he became the singer for many successful cover bands in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. “The Jersey Shore’’ was his home for over 30 years and he performed in many of the Tri-State areas top venues, including regular gigs on the boardwalk in Seaside Heights, and at the famous Stone Pony, in Asbury Park. Kim has made guest appearances, shared the stage, and has been an opening act for major recording artist including, Tommy James and The Shondells, Lenny Welch, The Tramps, The Stampeders,Rick Derringer, and Aerosmith. He made his TV debut on the nationally syndicated 80’s Hit TV Show “Dancing On Air”, Philadelphia’s all time top rated music program.

Paul Plumeri Blues Band
When you’ve been playing guitar and singing the blues as long as Paul Plumeri, you learn to do things your own way. Naturally, since he does things his own way, Plumeri’s guitar playing and singing style are distinctive. Plumeri, the third son of the well-known longtime Trenton area politician and civil servant, Sam Plumeri, began playing guitar at age seven. He has been associated with the blues in the Garden State and greater Philadelphia for more than three decades.

Penny & The Puppettes
Penny Sue (aka Merissa Morin) is co-creator of Penny & the Puppettes and a graduate of New York University’s Musical Theater program at Tisch School of the Arts. Her adult acting career includes: co-starring in the film One Night with Melissa Leo, a brief role on The Sopranos, and most recently starring in the independent film Tackle Girl. Penny also writes music on both the guitar and piano, and gigs out in Manhattan music venues. She is the third generation in a family of children’s entertainers, and is thrilled to be continuing in the family tradition. Her vocals are featured on Jane’s album, Uh Oh, There’s Something Underneath My Bed, in the songs “Stand” and “Get that Big Beak Outta My Face!”

Simona De Rosa – Jazz Music
Vocalist Simona De Rosa was born in Napoli, the City that gave her the passion for music. Since her childhood she sung in different projects, from Neapolitan orchestras to pop and jazz bands. . She received formal voice and piano training. After several musical experiences with many musicians, she moved to NYC to take a Master in Jazz Performance completed on December 2014. Through the years of studies and performances in different environment, from duo to the Big Band, Simona has developed skills that allows her to be a versatile singer. Her repertoire embrace different genres (jazz, pop, Italian songs, Neapolitan music), all unified in a unique and mature approach.In 2013, she was asked by Randall Keith Horton (latest Duke Ellington’s pianist) to perform as a soloist singer for the “Duke Ellington’s Sacred concerts” at the Colden Auditorium in Queens, NYC. The next year Simona organized and produced a concert named “41st parallel” (as the parallel that links NYC to Napoli) with 60 musicians. In this occasion she was awarded by the Country Executive Ed. Mangano and from the Association of Italian American Educators for her “spirited leadership, dedication and her outstanding cultural contribution to the Italian-American Community in the USA”.

Uncle Floyd
Uncle Floyd is a popluar comedian and entertainer. He has appeared on several television shows filmed in New York City including Law & Order, 100 Centre Street and was a regular on the Sirus Satelite Radio program “The Wiseguys Show” on Raw Dog Comedy (channel 104) hosted by former Soprano’s cast member Vincent Pastore. He performed the jingle (as well as appeared in the TV commercial) to the frontier themed amusement park “Wild West City, located in Netcong New Jersey, a jingle that is still used today by the park. He has played the Catskill and Pocono mountains resorts for many years.

Vivaci Dancers
Vivaci (formerly named “I Ballerini e le Voci d’Italia” – Dancers and Voices of Italy) was founded in 1972 by Cav. Elba Farabegoi Gurzau. Elb, the author of “Folk Dances, Costumes and Customs of Italy” (1963) dedicated her life to researching Italian dances, songs and traditions. Her book of dance and costume has enabled many Italian folk groups to get started. In the 1980’s, Elba brought together other Italian folk groups and formed the Italian Folk Art Federation of America (IFAFA). IFAFA has a conference every few years so that individuals can share, learn and experience the many beautiful and diverse Italian Folk arts.
